IMAT’s Role in Promoting Green Skills in Maritime Education through UP-SAILING
The UP-SAILING project, an EU-funded initiative, aims to enhance green skills in the maritime sector, addressing the gap between current educational offerings and the industry’s evolving environmental requirements. This project focuses on creating a comprehensive curriculum that integrates sustainable practices, fostering collaboration among maritime professionals, shipowners, and vocational education and training (VET) providers. By promoting eco-friendly skills and knowledge, UP-SAILING seeks to support the maritime sector’s transition towards a more sustainable future.
IMAT, a key partner in the UP-SAILING project, plays a crucial role in fostering the development of green skills within the maritime sector. UP-SAILING, funded by the European Union, aims to align maritime education with contemporary environmental policies. IMAT contributes by leveraging its expertise in maritime training, ensuring that the project’s curriculum effectively addresses the existing gap in green skills among maritime professionals, shipowners, and VET providers. Their involvement underscores a commitment to sustainable practices and environmental consciousness in maritime operations.
